A card shower is planned for Dorothy Evelyn Martin Abel, who will celebrate her 100th birthday Dec 22. Cards can be sent to 347 Crim Drive, Strasburg, Virginia 22657.


The Page County Community Choir will present a free Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. today at Performing Arts Luray on Main Street.


A holiday sing-along will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Warren County Community Center.

Featured will be crafts, cookie decorating and more.

Bird count

The state Arboretum at Blandy Farm in Boyce will hold its annual free bird count and family festival from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday for ages 5 to 14 and adults.

Those attending should dress for the weather. Reservations are recommended by calling 540-837-1758, ext. 224.

Food distribution

The Bread of Life Food Pantry in Woodstock will distribute food from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 459-1928.

The American Legion Community Band of Front Royal will present a free Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Boggs Chapel at Randolph-Macon Academy.
