Samuels library

Samuels Public Library will be offering the following classes in January:

English as a Second Language: Free, held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Samuels Public Library invites you to register and attend the English as a Second Language course. This free course will be held from 10 a.m.-noon every Tuesday and Thursday.

Hello Computer: This is a four-week beginning computer class for novicesheld from 1-2 p.m.on Tuesdays.

Exploring Computers: This is an intermediate computer class to improve skills. Classes are held at 1 p.m. on Thursdays.

Downloading Media: Learn how to download books to computers or handheld devices at 6 p.m. Jan. 16. Bring personal laptop, smartphone or eReader. Session meets every third Tuesday of the month.

Genealogy: A weekly workshop for beginning to advanced genealogists held at 6 p.m. every Wednesday.

SPL-Books and Beyond Club: This will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 17. “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles will be discussed.

Vibes in the Libes: Free music performance by Kurt Schelsinger at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 19.

Crochet Group: Learn how to crochet or share your talents. Group meets at 10 a.m. Jan. 10 and 24.

Advanced Excel: 1-3 p.m. Jan. 20. This class will introduce you to using common EXCEL built-in formulas in your spreadsheets and how to add graphs.

The Bridge Project: Artist/performer Tammy Ruggiero and writer Heather Davis to lead the Bridge Project Postcard Workshop at 10 a.m. Jan. 20. Activities include writing, painting, drawing, or collage on 5×7 postcards. Post cards will be incorporated into a wooden slat bridge and displayed at a celebration event.

Writer’s Support Group: The Warren Wordsmiths, an informal writer’s support group, meets every fourth Tuesday of the month. Bring your writing project. This month’s meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

What the Tech!: Teen volunteers will offer help with personal devices at 4 p.m. Jan. 25. Bring phones, smart devices, tablets, and laptops and e-Readers.
