The WIC Breastfeeding staff will host The LATCH Circle from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Handley Regional Library in Winchester. The group meets the first Wednesday of each month. Information: contact Jessica Vincent at 540-722-3470.
The Shenandoah County Public Schools Special Education Advisory Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the School Board office in the Special Education conference room.
The Strasburg Christian Church will host Quarter Bingo from 6-9 p.m. Saturday. The Youth Group will sponsor a baked potato bar starting at 5 p.m. for $7 per person. Proceeds will benefit mission trips. A donation of individually wrapped, easy open, nutritional snacks for Luke’s Backpack earns an extra door prize ticket.
Shenandoah County Public Schools, along with 132 other school divisions throughout Virginia, will celebrate School Board Appreciation Month in February. Almost 850 elected and appointed school board members throughout the state will be recognized by schools and communities for their service and dedication to public education.
Members of the Shenandoah County School Board will be recognized at their regular meeting on Feb. 8, at the County Government Center.
Bowman Library will hold a dance party from 11 a.m.-noon on Tuesdays in February for toddlers, preschoolers and their grownups. Information: www.handeyregional.org.
Handley Library will host “Sweets with a Sheriff” as part of the “Meet a Sheriff” series at 4 p.m. Feb.y 7 in the Children’s Room. Sheriff Les Taylor will present his two books, “Deputy Knowles Knows” and “Deputy Knowles Makes a Difference,” as gifts to the library. The sheriff and his deputies will decorate and eat sugar cookies with the children.
