The Strasburg Fire Department will hold quarter bingo Saturday. Doors open at 5 p.m. and bingo will be held from 6 -9 p.m. Door prizes given.  Food available. This benefits the Strasburg Fire Department Auxiliary. Information:  540-758-3384.


The following will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day:

• All branches of the Handley Regional Library (Bowman, Clarke County and Handley). They will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• Samuels Library in Front Royal . The library will resume normal hours on Tuesday.

• The Shenandoah County Extension office in Woodstock.

Club News

The Lebanon Church 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Lebanon Church Community Center. Information: 540-459-6140.



The Strasburg Heritage Association will hold its annual membership program at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg. Guest speaker will be Don Silvius, a local ancestry historian. He will share the story of the Frederick Mowery family of Clary and Lebanon Church.  There will also be an election of association board members during the meeting.


The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will open a new exhibit Saturday titled “Hear My Voice: Native American Art of the Past and Present.” A reception will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, with refreshments provided free to MSV members and $20 for non-members. Advance registration required. The exhibit will be on view through July 22.
