The Art of Sound, featuring Bianka Warrick, Justin Wheelock and Laura Clark, will perform at a teen dance night from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Performing Arts Luray on Main Street.

Tickets are $5 for students under 18 and $8 for adults.



The Long Branch Speaker Series, which mixes history, current affairs, visual arts and business, will begin with a lecture at 6 p.m. Sunday by Jonathan Noyalas, director of Shenandoah University’s McCormick Civil War Institute.

His talk is titled “Not with Fire & Sword.”

Future lectures will be held March 4, 11 and 18. Tickets are $25 or $80 for the entire series. Seating is limited. Reservations, information:

Youth art

In celebration of Youth Art Month in March, the Shenandoah Arts Council (ShenArts) is accepting submissions through March 15 for its annual Emerging Artists exhibit, a juried show of student works in paint, pen, sketch, mixed media, sculpture, etc.

The entry fee is $10. Artists can submit up to three pieces for consideration.

The exhibit will open March 29 at ShenArts, 811 S. Loudoun St., Winchester. Gallery hours will be from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
