Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Woodstock will hold a Lenten service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Garden club

Antioch Church of the Brethren in Woodstock will hold a spring renewal service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Students and leaders from Teen Challenge Ministry will share music and testimonials. A free-will offering will be accepted.

Middletown Mayor Charles Harbaugh IV will talk about his collection of antique license plates at the meeting of Blue Ridge Kiwanis of Winchester at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Best Western-Lee Jackson Inn in Perkin’s Restaurant.

Handley Library will host the following Construction Club meetings in March for all ages:

The Shenandoah County Extension office has announced the following meetings:

  • 4-H Exchange Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the courtroom of the Historic Courthouse in Woodstock.
  • 4-H/FFA steer weigh-in will be held 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. March 3 at the county fairgrounds in Woodstock.

The Winchester chapter of Trout Unlimited will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Red Cross office at 561 Fortress Drive.

The group will gather for dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Donato’s Touch of Italy Restaurant. The guest speaker will be Dr. Vic Brugh, regional director of Reel Recovery, an organization founded in 2003 offering flyfishing opportunities to men battling brain cancer.
