Shenandoah County Public Schools will hold kindergarten registration online this year from noon to 7 p.m. March 13-15.
To register, parents or guardians should visit “http://www.shenandoah.k12.va.us”>www.shenandoah.k12.va.us online and click “2018-19 Kindergarten Pre-Registration” to begin registration. The online registration replaces paper forms, though each elementary school – W.W. Robinson, Ashby Lee and Sandy Hook – will have computers available on the days of registration for those who do not have access to a computer.
Children must be 5 years old by Sept. 30 to enter school this year and they should be registered in the attendance area where they live and are assigned. Required documents include the child’s birth certificate (not hospital certificate), immunization record, and street address of residence with proof of residency.

The Edinburg Lions Club will celebrate its 70th Charter Night with a social and dinner starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Edinburg Fire Hall.

Bowman Library in Stephens City will hold the following meetings:
- Maker Mondays show and tell 6-8 p.m., Monday for tinkerers, hobbyist, DIYers, code monkeys, engineers, etc. Information: Ryan Hall at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Teen Advisory Board (middle- and high-school students): 6-7 p.m., Monday.
Winchester Public School Superintendent Dr. Jason Van Heukelum will be the speaker at the luncheon meeting of the Old Town Kiwanis Club at noon Monday at the Godfrey Miller House, 28 S. Loudoun St., Winchester.
AARP will hold its Smart Driver safety refresher course program for people 50 and older from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 16 at the Frederick County Public Safety Building, 1080 Coverstone Drive, Winchester.
The cost is $20, which includes materials. AARP members who bring their membership card will receive a $5 discount. There are no exams. Drivers should bring their license to class.
