A card shower is planned for Billy and Bertha Jenkins, who will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday. Cards can be sent to 8 Portsmouth Road, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
A fundraiser will be held today at United Bank for Noelle Mikels, a girl who is No. 2 on the waiting list to receive a double-lung transplant.
Supporters will be selling baked goods, hot dog lunches and T-shirts at the bank at 300 Warren Ave., Front Royal. Donations will also be accepted to help her family raise $60,000 for the surgery.

The Shenandoah Area Council Boy Scouts of America will hold its 89th Court of Honor dinner from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clarion Inn and Conference Center in Winchester.
The newest class of Eagle Scouts and volunteer adult mentors will be recognized. The Shenandoah Area Council Statuette Award, Outstanding Eagle Scout Award, NESA Adams Service Project of the Year Award and Silver Beaver Award will be presented.

The Safeway Breakfast Club will meet at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s in Mount Jackson.

The Turner Ashby camp Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Old Courthouse in Winchester.
The guest speaker will be Teresa Roane, historian from the Valentine Museum Library and the Museum of the Confederacy, who will discuss preserving Confederate memorials and minorities in the Confederate military.
The Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce will host a job fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the National Guard Armory, 451 Hoover Road, Woodstock.
Forty employers will be available to fill job openings. There will also be job and internship information.
Those attending are encouraged to bring several copies of their resume and be prepared for job interviews.
A variety of companies offering resources to job seekers will be in attendance such as the Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board and Virginia Values Veterans, Lord Fairfax Community College Apprenticeship Coordinator, Virginia Employment Commission, veterans representatives, Senator Tim Kaine’s staff, Lord Fairfax Small Business Development Center and People Inc.
