Kiwanis host breakfast to raise funds for youth projects

STRASBURG – The Strasburg Kiwanis Club is hosting its semi annual Pancake Breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Saturday at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Lorie W. Crabill, board director, said the funds raised are used to support youth focused-groups and projects “We hold events like our annual pool parties where kids can come swim and eat for free.”

Breakfast will include pancakes, Crabill’s sausage, sausage gravy, juice and coffee.

An average of $3,300 is raised at both breakfast events, with the second one expected in October.

The proceeds will benefit A Small Hands, Response, Boy Scouts, Open Gym for Youth, Luke’s Back Pack, Aktion Club, Sandy Hook Book Exchange, Shenandoah County Pregnancy Center and the Strasburg High School Scholarship fund.

Sponsors include Queen Street Diner, Stover Funeral Home, Anytime Fitness, City National Bank, Creekside Gifts and Twisted Salon.

Admission is $5 in advance, $6 at the door. Sandy Hook Elementary is located at 162 Stickley Loop.
