Thursday is the deadline to purchase tickets for the Columbia Furnace Community Club’s steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. April 21.

Peter Muhlenberg Middle School in Woodstock will host a public blood drive from 10 a.m. to-2 p.m. Saturday as part of its Community Services Day.

Appointments are encouraged by registering at www.donateblood.vablood.org.



Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren in Edinburg will host a pork tenderloin supper starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. Dining in is a free-will offering, carry-outs are $8 per meal.  Proceeds benefit Community Outreach Ministry.



Saumsville Christian Church in Maurertown will hold a ham sloppy potpie supper starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. A free-will offering will be accepted to benefit Jared Rice’s Eagle Scout project and medical expenses for the Harold Heishman family.



A Spring Fling fundraiser, featuring folk singer Sally Mae Foster, will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at 9 Church St., Front Royal. A $5 cover charge will benefit Stepping Stones, a nonprofit organization in Front Royal.



The Round Hill United Methodist Men will host a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. A free-will offering will be accepted.


Allon Lefever, former director of Eastern Mennonite University’s Master of Business Administration program, will discuss his book “Launching the Entrepreneur Ship” at 3 p.m. Saturday at the New Market Library.

Choir Day

Greater Joy Baptist Church in Front Royal will host a Youth Choir Day at 3 p.m. Saturday featuring the Greater Joy Youth, Rock Angels from the Church of the Rock and the Mini Disciples of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Handley Library in Winchester will hold the following programs Saturday:

• Family story time: 10:30 a.m.

• Construction Club meeting: 11 a.m.

• Magic the Gathering Club: 3 p.m.

Beth El

Rabbi Grumbacher will lead an introduction to Judaism for potential Jews-by-choice from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday and April 21 at Beth El Congregation in Winchester. Torah study will begin at 10:15 a.m.

A Jewish Story Club will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday for ages 4 to 6.

The Shenandoah Valley Sportsman Youth Shooting Team will host a chicken and pulled pork dinner and silent auction from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church in Strasburg.
