Showers

Ruritan club

The Cedar Creek Valley Ruritan Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gravel Springs Lutheran Church in Star Tannery. Information: 465-4159.

Science night

North Fork Middle School in Mount Jackson will hold a Science Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Students will highlight the finishing phases for the Net Zero Science Center along with other energy-focused share stations.

Trout

Winchester Trout Unlimited will hold a ‘bar fly’ event at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Escutcheon Brewing, 142 W. Commercial St., Winchester.

No fly-tying or fly-fishing experience necessary. Those attending are encouraged to bring their fly-tying vise and any food they wish to eat or share (no drinks).

Kiwanis

Blue Ridge Kiwanis of Winchester will meet at 7:30 a.m. Thursday for breakfast at 329 Cameron St. in Winchester followed by a tour of the Child Safe Center.

Bloodmobile

Shenandoah University’s Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy in Winchester will host a public blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.

Ham radio

The Amateur Ham Radio Operators Club meets at 8:30 a.m. each Thursday at Cook’s Exxon in Woodstock. Information: Malcolm at 436-8503.

Goodlatte

A member of Congressman Bob Goodlatte’s staff will hold open door community office hours Thursday at the following locations to meet with citizens to discuss problems they might have with the federal government or to hear their views on current issues before Congress:

  • Broadway: 9-10:30 a.m., Town Hall, 116 Broadway Ave.
  • Mount Jackson: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Town Council Chambers, 5901 Main St.

4-H

The Little North Mountain 4-H Shooting Education Club will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church in Strasburg. Information: 459-6140.

Baptist

Greater Joy Baptist Church will hold youth revival services at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at 45 E. Strasburg Road, Front Royal.

Guest speakers will be the Rev. Henry Hall on Thursday and the Rev. James Starks and his youth choir from the Church of the Rock on Friday.

The church will celebrate youth choir day at 3 p.m. April 14 featuring Greater Joy Youth, The Rock Angels of The Church of the Rock and the Mini Disciples of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Scholarship

April 27 is the deadline for family members of the Blue Ridge Association of Realtors or an affiliate member to apply for a BRAR scholarship. Information: 540-667-2606.
