A chicken barbecue, pulled pork and bake sale will be held at 9 a.m. today in front of First Bank in Strasburg. Proceeds will benefit a headstone for Mamie V. Mitchell.
Selah Theatre Project will hold two yard sales this weekend to benefit Full Hearts, Selah’s Destination Imagination Outreach Team, to attend global finals May 22-26 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Indoor yard sales will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at 400-B Kendrick Lane, Front Royal.
- A yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Shen-Valley Flea Market at Double Tollgate, 2163 Fairfax Pike, White Post.

The Strasburg Community Library will host Callan Bentley with the Northern Virginia Community College who will give a talk at 10:30 a.m. Monday titled “Draining a Billion Years of Change: the Geologic History Contained in the Potomac River Watershed.” Admission is free.
The Top of Virginia Building Association will hold a legislative breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Winchester Country Club, 1300 Senseny Road.
Attendees include state Senator Jill Vogel, R-Upperville, Delegates Chris Collins, R-Winchester, Wendy Gooditis, D-Boyce, and David LaRock, R-Hamilton and Andrew Clark, vice president of government relations with the Home Builders Association of Virginia.

The Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a Nurman Company products sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the hospital’s south entrance, Door 3.
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will host a Tiny Tales story time for ages 2 to 5 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at 901 Amherst St., Winchester.
The story time is being held in conjunction with the museum’s exhibit “Nature Connects: Art with Lego Bricks,” that includes 13 larger-than-life displays made out of more than 400,000 Lego bricks.
