Luray fireworks

The Town of Luray will host its annual 4th of July celebration from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday on the Hawksbill Greenway.

Included will be fireworks at dusk, rock climbing wall, barrel train rides, carnival games, face painting, moon bounces, meltdown (an inflatable obstacle), duck race at 8 p.m. and food vendors

Performing Arts Luray will have live music from Thundergun from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on their plaza.



Valley Educational Center for the Creative Arts will host its First Thursday event from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at 7 East Gallery, 123 S. Main St., Woodstock.

July’s featured artist is Savannah Lee, a recent Strasburg High School graduate and VECCA scholarship award winner. Information: www.vecca.org.



Ken and Dorothy Scheel will present a program on building with Keva planks at 10 a.m. Thursday at the New Market Library for ages birth to fifth grade.



The Shenandoah County 4-H Exchange Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the courtroom of the Historic Courthouse in Woodstock. Information: 459-6140.


Winchester Trout Unlimited will not hold its monthly meeting or ‘bar-fly’ event in July. Information: Bill at 540-722-2620.

“West Side Story”

The Shenandoah Theatre Summer Music program will perform “West Side Story” Thursday through July 15 at Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre at Shenandoah University, Winchester.

Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $36.
