The tri-annual Hite family reunion will be held Friday through Sunday at Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown.

The reunion will feature talks and tours of Hite family spots and a formal banquet followed by a worship service and association meeting on Sunday.

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will hold the following activities:

  • Friday: 2 p.m., virtual trip through Paris, sample classic French cheeses and create French-inspired art, for ages 8-up.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m., Studio 330 art class with Front Royal artist Michael Whited for ages 9-18; 2 p.m., World of Lego for ages 5-up.

The United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley is accepting submissions through Dec. 15 from nonprofit service organizations in Winchester and the counties of Frederick, Clarke, Shenandoah and Page for the latest edition of its Community Service Directory.

The directory is made available to area businesses, schools, medical offices and the community at large.

Submissions should include basic contact information, programs offered, hours and availability and information on eligibility for assistance.

The current directory contains information on over 150 nonprofits, from shelters, literacy programs, food pantries, family-based services and more. There is also a resource section with a listing of nonprofits by type of service offered. The 2019 directory will also seek to include information on area church offerings like community meals or food pantries.
