Monday is the deadline to register children ages 5 to 8 for the Fair Fun Week day camp sponsored by the Shenandoah County Extension Office and Parks and Recreation Department from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 27-29.

Children will visit the Shenandoah County Fair and get a “behind the scenes” look at what it takes to bring the fair to life, visit the livestock barns, exhibit buildings and enjoy some fair food.

The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will host a MakerSpace workshop on birdhouses from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 25 at 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

Inspired by the birds featured in Nature Connects: Art with Lego bricks, pairs composed of an adult plus a child (ages 6-10) will design and build their own birdhouse to take home.
