The Hamburg Ruritan Club will have a food booth at the Edinburg Ole Time Festival today through Sunday on the corner of state Route 11 and Stony Creek.


Lunch Bunch

The Lunch Bunch will meet at noon Monday at the Strasburg United Methodist Church. Reservations can be made by calling 540-465-3418.


The Shenandoah County Extension office in Woodstock has scheduled the following meetings:

  • County FCE Council will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at the Extension office.
  • County 4-H Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Extension office.

Handley Regional Library in Winchester will host an Edible Banned Book Festival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The festival celebrates National Banned Books Week, Sept. 23-29. Patrons can enter a baking contest showcasing a banned book masterpiece. Local patrons, special community guests and business partners will then vote for the delicacies; bidding will also be accepted on the “book cakes.”

The Type 1 Diabetes Support Group will meet at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the old hospital’s Chronic Disease Resource Center, 333 W. Cork St., Suite 100, Winchester.
