Weekend Events: May 26

The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:


The aMuse Art and Craft Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

Featured will be woodworking, printmaking, painting, collage, ceramics and more. Information: 540-662-1473 or www.themsv.org.

Strawberry Festival

The Delaplane Strawberry Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sky Meadows State Park.

Enjoy hayrides, old-fashioned field games, dancing, music, magic, storytelling, crafts, petting farm, antique car show, bake sale, hikes, face painting, cake-walk, corn hole tournament, open house tours of Mount Bleak House, a monkey, food and more.

Admission is $25 a car. The festival is sponsored by Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Delaplane. Proceeds fund outreach ministries and grants to local organizations.

Bright Box

Bright Box Theater has announced the following performances will be held this weekend at 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester:

• Today: 8 p.m., comedians Rob Maher and Keith Purnell, tickets $15-$20.

• Saturday: 7 and 9:30 p.m., comedians Rob Maher and Keith Purnell, tickets $15-$20; 8 p.m., singer/songwriters Bryan Frazier with guests Jordan Hobson and Ryan Jewel, tickets $8 in advance, $10 at door.

The following concerts will be held this weekend in Luray:

• Today: 7-9 p.m., Red Roots will give a free performance as part of Evenings on Main concerts at Ruffner Plaza on the Luray Greenway.

• Saturday: 1-3 p.m., Cooter’s Garage Band will give a free concert at Cooter’s Place, 4768 U.S. Highway 211 West, 540-843-2515.

• Sunday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., annual Skyline Drive cruise and barbecue; 2-4 p.m., free bluegrass concert at Cooter’s Place, 540-843-2515.


The Winchester Little Theatre will present “You Can’t Take It With You” by George Kaufman at 8 p.m. today and 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday at 315 W. Boscawen St., Winchester.

Barns of Rose Hill will present three one-act plays on the comedies of love and marriage at 4 p.m. Sunday at 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville.

The plays are “The Proposal” by Anton Chekhov, “Here We Are” by Dorothy Parker and “The Second Honeymoon” by Clair Sifton.
