The following are some of the area events that will be held this holiday weekend:
Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation in cooperation with Shentel will host a free movie night featuring the animated movie “Sing” at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) today at W.O. Riley Park in Woodstock.
Those attending should bring blankets and/or chairs. Free popcorn and drinks provided.
The Blue Ridge Arts Council will sponsor a concert by the American Legion Community Band at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Gazebo in Front Royal. Information: 540-635-9909 or www.blueridgearts.org.
James Madison University’s Children’s Theatre Playshop Players will present Rudyard Kipling’s “Just So Stories” at 7 p.m. today and Saturday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Forbes Center Studio Theatre in Harrisonburg.

The Schultz Theatre at J. Frank Hillyard Middle School will present “Red, White and Tuna” at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at 26 Hawks Hill Drive, Broadway.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for students and seniors. Parental guidance is suggested for mild language.
Additional performances will be held July 7-9.

Shenandoah University will present the musical “Oklahoma” at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre, 1460 University Drive, Winchester.

Arts Council of the Valley will show the following movies this holiday weekend at Court Square Theater In Harrisonburg:
• “Beatriz at Dinner:” today through Thursday. Tickets: $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors and students and $8 for matinees.
• “Shrek:” 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m., Tuesday. Tickets: $5 and free for children under 3.
