This Weekend

The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:



Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will hold the gallery talk “Hear My Voice” featuring select works featured in the exhibit of Native American art at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday at 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

The Roundhouse Players will present Comedy Tonight 2 – sketch comedies inspired by the Carol Burnett Show, at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at 32-B E. Main St., Luray.

Magic Lantern Theater will show the movie “Maudie,” a Canadian-Irish biopic about folk artist Maud Lewis featuring Sallie Hawkins and Ethan Hawke, at 4 p.m. Sunday at Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

The Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester will present the following performances this weekend:

  • Lysistrata Jones: 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre, tickets $12-$23.
  • The Wind Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. today in Armstrong Concert Hall, tickets: $12.

Bright Box

Bright Box Theater will have the following shows this weekend at 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester:

  • Today: 8 p.m., comedians Yannis Pappas and Chris Distefano, tickets $15-$20; 9 p.m., Out of the Box 9 Songwriter Series, tickets: $10 in advance, $12 at door.
  • Saturday: 7 and 9 p.m., comedians Yannis Pappas and Chris Distefano, tickets $15-$20.
  • Sunday: 3 p.m., Phil Zuckerman’s Rock Room concert, free admission; 6 p.m., Dogwood Tales album release with Saw Black, tickets $8 in advance, $10 at door.
