The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
Friday Night Live
Old Town Winchester will host its Friday Night Live event from 5 to 11 p.m. today featuring music by the Kelley Bell Band with opening act Mojo Mothership at the Taylor Pavilion on the Loudoun Street Mall.
A beer and wine garden will be available to those attending the concert with proceeds benefiting the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke counties.

The Shenandoah Theatre Summer Music program will present “Mamma Mia!” today through July 29 at Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre at Shenandoah University in Winchester.
Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Patriots Pride Day
The Town of Middletown will hold a family-friendly Patriots Pride Day event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Park.
Featured will be a parade of color guards, memorial ceremony, colonial British and World War II encampments and re-enactments, food and raffles.
Rose’ All Day
Cave Ridge Vineyard in Mount Jackson will host Rose’ All Day Virginia from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday to benefit the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.
Lawn games and music by DJ Ryan Kersey. Tickets are $30-$50. Information, tickets: www.caveridge.com.
Magic Lantern Theater will present “The Big Sick” at dusk, about 8:45 p.m., today at James Charles Vineyard in Winchester as part of the Movies in the Vineyard series. Admission is $8. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket, picnics welcome.

The American Legion Community Band will perform at 7 p.m. today at the Gazebo in Front Royal as part of the Gazebo Gatherings Summer Concert Series. Admission is free.
Battle of Kernstown
The Kernstown Battlefield will commemorate the 154th anniversary of the Second Battle of Kernstown with special events and tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 610 Battle Park Drive, Winchester. Information: 202-302-9219.
The Schultz Theatre will present “flowers for Algernon,” based on the novel by Daniel Keyes, at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the J. Frank Hillyard Middle School, 26 Hawks Hill Drive, Broadway.

The Hall Brothers Racing Team will bring its legendary monster truck, Raminator, to Safford of Winchester from noon to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday with a car crush at 1 p.m. at 1659 Berryville Pike, Winchester.

- Children’s Discovery Area: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday.

‘Shrek The Musical Jr.’

Evenings on Main
Strongwater will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. today as part of the Evenings on Main Concert Series at Ruffner Plaza in Luray. In case of rain, the concert will be held at Performing Arts Luray. Admission is free.
