The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:

 

Highland Games

The Kernstown Battlefield Association and Clan Adrenalin will sponsor “Highland Games and More!” from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at 610 Battle Park Drive, Winchester near Creekside Station.

Activities include nationally and internationally ranked competitive throwers, 50+ Masters Women’s class, Armstrong Irish Dance Academy performing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., bagpipers, and tours of the battlefield at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Truck/tractor pull

The Woodstock Young Farmers will host its annual truck and tractor pull starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock.

Admission is $12 with children 10 and under free. Track seating is available; bring lawn chairs. Information: 540-335-0174 or 703-926-4288.

 

BryceFest

The annual BryceFest at Bryce Resort in Basye will be held Saturday featuring magician and illusionist Wes Iseli.

Shows will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. There will also be fireworks at dusk. Enjoy a zip line adventure, tubing, rock wall, bungee and bounce houses. Admission is free.

Gazebo Gatherings

The American Legion Community Band will perform at the Gazebo Gatherings Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m. today at the Gazebo in Front Royal. Admission is free.

 

Shrine Mont Jubilee

The Shrine Mont Jubilee will be held today through Sunday at Shrine Mont in Orkney Springs.

Featured will be live music by Buds Collective on Saturday evening and a 5k run/walk.

Daylily Daze

Daylily Daze, featuring a bounce house, farm animals, games, kids crafts, special daylily sales, wine tasting, raffles and food, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 454 Marple Road, Winchester.

Trolley tour

Sightseeing trolley tours of Winchester will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Road, Winchester. Call 540-662-4946 to register.

 

‘West Side Story’

The Shenandoah Theatre Summer Music program will present “West Side Story” today through July 15 at Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre at Shenandoah University, Winchester.

Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $36.

Bluemont Concert Series

Charm City Junction will open this year’s Bluemont Concert Series at 7:30 p.m. today at the old Frederick County Courthouse, 20 N. Loudoun St., Winchester. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont Friends and senior citizens and $2 for children under 12. In case of bad weather, the concert will be moved to the First Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Bright Box

Bright Box Theater will have the following programs this weekend at 15 N. Loudoun St., Winchester:

  • Today: 8 p.m., Disco Night with Groove Train. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
  • Saturday: 9 p.m., Dance for Terrapin featuring DJ Throdown, Plaeground, Peyote Buttons. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at door.

Barns of Rose Hill

The Band-Changed with The Tremault Band will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Barns of Rose Hill, 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville.
