MIDDLETOWN – Belle Grove Plantation will host its eighth annual Wine Fest from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Festivalgoers will be able to taste various wines from around Virginia, listen to live music and view cooking demonstrations. The event will also play host to local food and artisan vendors.

Belle Grove Executive Director Kristen Laise said that the festival is a great way to enjoy the end of summer and start of the harvest season.

“It is a great opportunity to learn about many wonderful local producers in our community and sample what they have to offer,” she added.

The event will feature tastings from North Mountain Vineyard and Winery, Hunt’s Vineyard, Third Hill at De Mello Vineyards, Chateau O’Brien and Mountain View Vineyard. Those with tasting tickets will receive a souvenir glass.

Participants can enroll online for two painting seminars with Kelly Walker, where they will paint a picture with the artist and take it home with them. There also will be cooking demonstrations from several local chefs, including Chef Cindy Cherry from the Historical Homemaker Bakery and Cafe, throughout the afternoon. Local singer Robbie Liman will perform, along with the Con Burch Band.

Shaffer’s Barbeque and Market, of Middletown, will provide food from its menu, while 0 to 60 Energy Cafe will bring grilled cheese sandwiches, wraps, coffee and smoothies. C & C Frozen Treats, of Front Royal, will bring homemade ice cream.

Tickets may be purchased at the gate on the day of the event for $25 for those who want to take part in the tastings. Non-tasting tickets or for those who are under 21 are $10.

All proceeds from the event will go toward Belle Grove’s educational and preservation projects. For more information on the festival, visit bellegrove.org.
