Bowman Library in Stephens City will host a performance by the Apple Valley Ringers at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation has announced the following activities will be held:
• Thursdays: 2-4 p.m., play board and card games, dominos, etc. at the Historic Courthouse in Woodstock.

The Shenandoah Piedmont Regional Rally and Candidates Forum will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Warrenton Community Center. The Piedmont Region includes Democratic Committees from the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Rappahannock and Warren.
Speakers include candidates for lieutenant governor, nominees for the 18th, 88th and 31st House of Delegates and those exploring candidacy for the 5th Congressional District.
Young Life Warren County will hold a fundraising yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 20 E. 4th St., Front Royal. Proceeds will go toward the camp fund.
The Round Hill Ruritan Club will hold a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 164 Poorhouse Road, Winchester.

The Basye/Orkney Springs Community Library will hold its annual Memorial Day weekend book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the library, located at the airport building at Bryce Resort on Resort Road in Basye.
Books will not be marked with prices, instead, readers will be asked to make a donation to the library.
Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will hold a meeting of Chapter Chat at 2 p.m. Saturday for ages 7 to 11.
Registration for the Handley Regional Library adult summer reading program “Reading By Design” opens Saturday for ages 18 and older.
Readers can earn up to $15 in Book Bucks for the first 15 books read to redeem at book sales.
Warren County Parks and Recreation has announced the Claude A. Stokes Jr. Community Pool will open Saturday. The pool will be open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Memorial Day Monday and only on weekends until June 3.
Pool hours will be from noon to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Shiloh United Methodist Church will hold a chicken barbecue and bake sale starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The church is located 2.5 miles west of Strasburg on state Route 55 in Clary. Proceeds will benefit local missions.
The Woodstock United Methodist Men will sell chicken barbecue starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rite Aide parking lot in Woodstock. Cost is $4 per half. Proceeds will benefit the church’s vacation Bible school program.
Shenandoah County Extension Master Gardeners will be available to answer home horticulture questions from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lowe’s in Woodstock. Information: 459-6140.
Trinity Lutheran Church in Stephens City will host a car, truck and bike show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will also be a bounce house, face painting and food. Proceeds will benefit holiday gift baskets for area needy families.
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Berryville will hold a Strawberry Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. In addition to food, there will be a raffle to include a basket of cheer, $100 gas card, restaurant gift card and plant. Early bird orders accepted. Proceeds benefit community outreach projects. The Mount Jackson United Methodist Church will hold an indoor lawn party starting at 4 p.m. Saturday (rain or shine).
The Gravel Springs Lutheran Church Relay for Life Team will hold a lasagna/spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Star Tannery Volunteer Fire Department. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
Shenandoah County 4-H will celebrate June is Dairy Month with a field trip June 3 to see the production of milk from field to fridge at the Mt. Crawford Creamery.
The trip, held from 8:15 a.m. to noon, is open to ages 10-13. The cost is $15 per person. If time allows, a second stop will be added to see cows milked by robotics. 4-H’ers (age 5-19) not signed up for the field trip may join the group at the County Government Center at noon for free snacks, crafts and poster making for the 4-H Dairy poster contest.

The Humane Society of Warren County is holding a Walt Disney World passes and Big Mickey raffle through June 14. Only 200 tickets are available at $10 each for four one-day hopper passes to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida (a $670 value).
