First Kids ROCS kicks-off Saturday

The Woodstock Riley Outdoor Concert Series (ROCS) for Kids kicks-off this Saturday at the South Street Barn Market with fun activities to keep the kids busy.

Director of Marketing and Events Katie Mercer said about 50 to 60 people usually turn out for the kids event, which is not only fun, but also educational.

Mercer added that McKiblerBees Mobile Mining Unit “will have the kids enjoying the old fashioned trade of mining for gems and rocks.”

“Mr. Kibler will speak with the youth about geology and then allow 10 at a time to enter the trailer and mine for a bag of gems,” she said.

Support local farmers and artisans at the market, she said, with vendors participating in giveaways and activities to teach the kids about agriculture and arts in the Valley.
