Festival takes over downtown Front Royal

The 31st annual Virginia Wine and Craft Festival will take place Saturday in downtown Front Royal and will feature shopping, music, vendors and wine tastings.

Niki Foster Cales, with the Front Royal-Warren County Chamber of Commerce, said they typically see around 10,000 people at the event, depending on the weather. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Front Royal. Over 20 wineries and 100 craft vendors as well as over a dozen food vendors will be set up across more than seven blocks downtown.

“The Virginia wineries are the most popular reason people attend the event,” Cales said. “However, many people attend because we have crafters and artists from all over the East Coast. Back 2 Zero is playing at the gazebo in the afternoon and they have quite a following, so people trek from all over Northern Virginia to see them.”

She added, “We are also really excited to have Gallows Bound performing again. They have been performing all over the country and we’re lucky enough to have them join us again.”

New to the event, she said, are more vendors with cider and mead, as well as a fun area for kids, which includes a game and bouncy ride called Galaxy Meltdown, as well as an escape room featured in that area.
