The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
Cirque Italia, a traveling “water circus” blend of technology and performing arts featuring acts from Russia to Mexico, will be held today through Sunday at the Frederick County Fairgrounds, 155 Fairground Road, Clear Brook. Information: www.cirqueitalia.com.
About 300 artists will display their work at the Burwell-Morgan Mill’s spring art show from noon to 5 p.m. today and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through May 14 at 15 Tannery Lane, Millwood.

The Barns of Rose Hill will have the following concerts and reception this weekend at 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville:
• Today: 5 p.m., blues musician Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton performs.
• Saturday: 6-7 p.m., opening reception for the textile art exhibit “Ice on a Hot Stove” by Norma Fredrickson. Free admission.
• Saturday: 8-10 p.m., concert by classical banjoist John Bullard.
• Sunday: 4 p.m., The late Pete Seeger performs through his own recorded voice, accompanied by live music and video, with Richie Stearns, Sara Milonovich, Sean Harkness and Timothy Hill. The opening weekend for the Kernstown Battlefield will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on Battle Park Drive near Creekside Station.
The 4th VA Company F will be encamped for the weekend. Tours will also be available for the battlefield, 1854 Pritchard House, the museum and artillery building. Information: www.kernstownbattle.org.
The Battle of Front Royal will be re-enacted downtown from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
There will be special music at the Gazebo and Warren Heritage Society office on Chester Street in the morning followed by the re-enactment at 1 p.m. and more music at 2 p.m. on Chester Street.

The Front Porch, a nonprofit roots music school based in Charlottesville, will hold its first annual block party and music sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 221 E. Water St., Harrisonburg (across from the parking garage).
Recycled records and instruments will be for sale or enter a raffle for prizes, including free music classes.
Third Street will be closed off for this family friendly event, with food, drinks and live music all day, including The West African Drum Ensemble, Gold Top Country Ramblers and Small Town Rodeo.
