Busy season for Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre

Shenandoah University’s Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre will have a busy season with shows throughout the summer.

Elizabeth Albert, associate managing director and production manager, said the performances will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 8 p.m., along with afternoon showings on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.. There will also be a 2:30 p.m. Wednesday matinee during the second week of each show.

This season’s shows are:

• June 22-July 2:   “Oklahoma!”

• July 6-16: Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”

• July 20-30: “Hairspray”

Albert added that the cast size varies from piece to piece, but abut 30 to 40 people are in each show. Local youth will also take the stage in “Oklahoma!” and “Beauty and the Beast” with children as young as 9 years old performing.
