The Sassie Lassies will hold a fundraiser yard sale to benefit charity programs starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Borden’s lot across from the Strasburg Museum.


Friday is the deadline to register to attend a summer theatre camp sponsored by the Schultz Theatre and School of Performing Arts June 19-July 7 at the J. Frank Hillyard Middle School in Broadway for rising fifth- through ninth-grade students.

Buckton Presbyterian Church will hold a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church on Strasburg Road in Front Royal. The event will be held rain or shine. Table rentals available for $10. Information: 540-635-5393.


The Shenandoah Extension Master Gardeners will be available to answer home horticulture questions from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lowe’s in Woodstock. Information: 459-6140.


Bowman Library in Stephens City will hold a chess program from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays in June for all ages and skill levels. Information: 540-869-9000.


The Anointed Voices will celebrate its 11th anniversary with a concert at 3 p.m. Saturday at Greater Joy Baptist Church in Front Royal. A small repast will follow.


Relay For Life of Clarke County will hold a ceremony from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Johnson Williams Middle School track in Berryville.

Survivor/Caregiver laps will begin at 4 p.m. and a luminaria ceremony will be held at 9 p.m. There will also be games, activities and food. Information: Aimee at 540-451-0211.

Descendants of Luther Stultz will hold a reunion at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the St. Luke Lutheran Parish Hall, 923 St. Luke Road, Woodstock. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish to share.


The Ritenour-Ridenour reunion will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Fairview United Methodist Church on Double Church Road in Stephens City.

Warren County Parks and Recreation will hold a basketball day camp from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through June 16 at Warren County High School for ages 6-14.

Bible school

Strasburg Presbyterian Church will hold vacation Bible school from 6 to 7:45 p.m. June 18-22 for youth in kindergarten through the sixth grade. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Food program

Shenandoah County Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service program, which provides meals to children without charge. Meals will be served weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 19 through June 30. Meals will be provided, on a first-come, first-serve basis, at the following schools:

• W.W. Robinson Elementary School, 1231 Susan Ave., Woodstock.

• Ashby Lee Elementary School, 480 Stonewall Lane, Quicksburg.

• Sandy Hook Elementary School, at 162 Stickley Loop, Strasburg.

The Humane Society of Warren County is partnering this month with the Best Friends Animal Society in a nationwide cat adoption promotion.

Adoptions will be $10 and include feline combo vaccine, deworming and flea treatment. Spaying or neutering is not included.

• Books and Babies story time: 10:30 a.m., Thursdays for ages 0-24 months.
