Hop Blossom Craft Beer Festival returns to Winchester

The annual Hop Blossom Craft Beer Festival will be held on Winchester’s Old Town Mall from noon to 6 p.m. June 10.

It is the fifth Hop Blossom festival to benefit GoodDogz.org, a Reston, Virginia, based animal welfare organization supporting adoption and good pet ownership, and the Winchester/Frederick/Clarke SPCA.

Beth and Mark Bates were at a Rocktown Beer and Music Festival in Harrisonburg several years ago when they became inspired to a do similar benefit in Winchester educating and exposing participants to the growing popularity of craft beer.

Four prior successful events have led to more than 40 craft beer manufacturers scheduled to provide their beers for sampling this year, along with a homebrew completion and live entertainment.

“We kind of capped the ticket sales at 2,500,” said Mark Bates, so there will be room for people to still visit the Mall who are not part of the Hop Blossom Festival.

Ticket prices range from $25 in advance to $30 on the day of the event, plus fees, as well as $40 and $75 for VIP tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at hopblossom.com or from the following local companies: Better Beer Store, Escutcheon Brewery, Hopscotch Coffee & Records, Murphy Beverage Company, Old Town General Store, Web Strategies Internet Solutions, Winchester Book Gallery and Winchester Brew Works.
