Shower

A card shower and party is planned for Louise McInturff, who will celebrate her 99th birthday Saturday at the Edinburg Fire Hall.

Bloodmobile

American Woodmark will hold a bloodmobile from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at its Customer Care building on Dawson Drive in Winchester.

Free T-shirts for all donors while supplies last. Walk-ups welcome, but appointments are encouraged by visiting https://donateblood.vablood.org.

Gardeners

Shenandoah County Extension Master Gardeners will be available to answer home horticulture questions from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Extension office in Woodstock.

Workshop

The Warren County Extension office will hold a youth meat quality assurance workshop at 1 p.m. Friday in the Warren County Board of Supervisor’s Room in Front Royal. Registration: 540-635-4549.

Library

The Shenandoah County Library has announced the new Bird Haven Oral History project is now available at https://tinyurl.com/lg57ktt.

The project showcases the history of the Bird Haven site and the Shenandoah Community workers, which produced wooden toys, furniture and other items for customers around the nation from the 1920s until the early 1960s.

The site contains 14 oral history video interviews of former employees and community members.

The project was produced through a special partnership between the library, James Madison University’s Public History Program and Bird Haven Farm.
