Shower

A card shower is planned for Floyd and Fay Neff, who will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary Sept. 1. Cards can be sent to 1336 Back Road, Woodstock, Virginia 22664.

Fundraiser

A fundraiser to benefit the rebuilding of the Front Royal VFW post home will be held starting at noon Saturday at Henry’s Grocery, 1181 Strasburg Road, Front Royal.

Featured will be live entertainment, raffles and chances to win prizes. Information: 540-636-9565.

Reunion

The Riffee and Ryman families will hold a reunion Saturday at John Whittington’s shop on Dysart Road, Woodstock.

Lunch will begin at 1 p.m. but those attending are asked to arrive earlier for pictures. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. Paper products and drinks will be provided.

Barbecue

The Woodstock American Legion will be selling barbecued chicken starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The cost is $4 per half.

Museum

The following volunteers are scheduled at the Strasburg Museum:

Circle

A prayer and drum circle with Earth Allies and others working to assure respect and justice for all beings including Mother Earth will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Galleria Center LLC, 402 W. Locust St., Woodstock.

Those attending are encouraged to bring their drum or other percussion instruments or instruments will be provided.

Library

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal has scheduled the following programs:

• The Maker Club (school-age children): 4:30 p.m., Tuesday. Theme: what’s hiding in the forest.

• Toddler story time: 10:15 a.m., Wednesday and Thursday. Theme: bees and bugs.

• Preschool story time: 11 a.m., Wednesday and Thursday. Theme: bees and bugs.

Bloodmobile

Performance Sport and Spine will sponsor a community blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at 840 John Marshall Highway, Suite E, Front Royal.

Free lunch totes will be given to donors while supplies last. Walk-ups welcome, but appointments are encouraged at www.donateblood.vablood.org.

Library

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal offers a free General Education Development (GED) course from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 5. Information, registration: 540-635-3153.
