A card shower is planned for Bettie Hepner, who will celebrate her 89th birthday Aug. 10. Cards can be sent to her c/o Greenfield Reflections of Strasburg, 304 Bowman Mill Road, Strasburg 22657.


The Shenandoah County Extension office has announced the following 4-H groups will meet:

• Toms Brook 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church.

• St. Luke-Saumsville 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Saumsville Christian Church.

• Little North Mountain 4-H Shooting Education Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at Liberty Baptist Church in Strasburg.

The Cullers family will hold a reunion at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Lebanon Church Community Center. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. Drinks and cutlery provided. Rain or shine.

Auto show

The Town of Edinburg and the Shenandoah Valley Cultural Heritage Museum will host an auto show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Edinburg Mill.

There will be prizes, food, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, dash plaques and goody bags to the first 100 attendees. Special music by Sound Solutions’ Tommy Hepner.

Izaak Walton

The Browntown chapter of the Izaak Walton League will hold a dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at 3364 Gooney Manor Loop, Browntown.

The guest speaker will be Fred Fenzel from the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.


Front Royal Christian School will celebrate the end of summer with a volleyball fundraiser and craft and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 at 80 N. Lake Ave., Front Royal.

The artwork of Nancy Kibler Rabe, a native of Strasburg, is on display during August at the Strasburg Museum. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Some of her work is on display at the Winchester Medical Center’s new Cancer Center.
