FRONT ROYAL — Archer, a 1 or 2-year-old hound mix, loves to jump and greet visitors and caretakers at the Humane Society of Warren County, and he’s always ready to play.

“He’s a little too energetic for small kids,” Kayla Wines, the canine team leader of the Humane Society of Warren County, said.

Wines said that Archer would be an ideal addition to a family with kids over 12 years old. She added that he is also great with other dogs and cats.

Archer came into the Humane Society of Warren County on July 17 as a stray, and has had all of his vaccinations, flea and tick treatments and deworming since then. He has also been microchipped, but still needs to be neutered, Wines said. While Archer is very energetic and “rambunctious,” Wines said, overall, Archer is well behaved

“We’re not so sure about the house training part of it because he came in as a stray,” Wines said. “But, they do have an indoor and outdoor run…and he’s never gone to the bathroom inside.”

The adoption fee for Archer is at $30, but he still needs to be neutered, which will cost an additional $105. The cost of neutering also includes three days of pain medication.
