Festival

St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold its annual fall festival at 3 p.m. Saturday at 3623 Back Mountain Road, Winchester.

Featured will be live music, food, bake sale, homemade items, crafts and face painting. Held rain or shine. Those attending should bring a lawn chair. Proceeds benefit the St. John’s Lutheran Scholarship Fund.

Celebration

The Middletown Heritage Society will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Middletown Historic District at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at The Wayside Inn.

David Edwards, regional director of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, will present a 30-minute program about the historic district. New district signs will be unveiled and the 20th anniversary of the Heritage Society will be recognized.

Baptist

Esbie Baptist Church in Strasburg will host a Gospel Extravaganza at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Library

Bowman Library in Stephens City will hold a Manga art program from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday for tweens and teens. Those attending should bring a sketch book. Information: 540-869-9000.

4-H

The Shenandoah County Extension office has announced the following 4-H meetings will be held:

• Lebanon Church 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the community center.

• Cabin Hill 4-H Club and Cloverbuds will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Conicville Fire Hall.

The Shenandoah County Retired Teacher’s Association is accepting donations in honor or memory of educators for its annual scholarship program, which will be held in May.  Information: Pam Green at 459-3753 or email ghfarm@shentel.net.
