All aboard for Train Day at Strasburg Museum

STRASBURG – The Strasburg Museum is hosting Train Day on Saturday.

Hope Brim, publicity chair for the museum, wants visitors to come out and learn about local railroad history and its association with the town of Strasburg.

“It’s a fun event for all ages,” Brim said. “We enjoy sharing small town life with patrons who have various interests in history.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the various tools used in railroading tasks, the technology used, as well as how messages were delivered. When a passing train didn’t have a scheduled stop in Strasburg, station agents had to come up with creative ways to deliver messages, Brim explained, adding that Train Day visitors will learn how these messages were delivered.

The museum, located at 440 E. King St. in Strasburg, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is free. For more information on Train Day, call 540-465-3175.
