Celebrate autumn at ArborFest

The State Arboretum of Virginia at Blandy is celebfrating autumn with its annual  ArborFest this weekend.

This festival and plant sale offers a wide variety of vendors including Pine Knot Farms, Bees & Beetles, Edible Landscaping and Winchester Ciderworks. Food vendors include Up in Smoke BBQ and Mountain Concessions.

Plant enthusiasts will be able to purchase small trees, fall perennials, and Virginia native plants, as well as other fall landscape plants and items for the home and garden.

Arboretum staff and volunteers will be on site offering advice and answering any questions about gardening.

A kid’s corner will be open from noon to 2 p.m. both days, and there will also be arboretum tours and hayrides.

A fundraising walk kicks off ArborFest at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Registration is required. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the walk and includes free admission to ArborFest all weekend. Proceeds go to the arboretum.

ArborFest is hosted by the Foundation of the State Arboretum with support from the Bank of Clarke County and Q102.

Admission is $10 per car.
