St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toms Brook will celebrate homecoming at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. Vicars Patrick and Katie Freund will preside. A covered-dish meal will follow.

UCC

Mt. Calvary United Church of Christ will hold its annual Harvest Home service at 11 a.m. Sunday at 1299 Sheetz Mill Road, Woodstock.

A covered-dish meal will follow. A staff member from Homewood will be present to discuss what is being done in the home.

Lutheran

St. Stephens Lutheran Church will celebrate its 175th anniversary with a special bluegrass service at 9 a.m. Sunday at 15737 Back Road, Strasburg. A covered-dish luncheon will follow the service.

Christian

Former Minister Rick Myer will be the speaker at the homecoming service at 11 a.m. Sunday at Walnut Springs Christian Church, 1905 Oranda Road, Strasburg.

A covered-dish luncheon will follow. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m.

Church of Christ

Evangelist Buddy Farris will be the speaker at the homecoming service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 318 Alum Springs Road, Basye.

Baptist

Salem Regular Baptist Church will hold a hymn sing at 2 p.m. Sunday at 1362 Salem Church Road, Boyce.

Performers include In One Accord, Glenn Welch with Fully Restored and Isasc and Diane Luttrell.

Patmos Lutheran Church in Woodstock will celebrate homecoming and Holy Communion at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday. A covered-dish luncheon will follow.

Brethren

Kermit Racey II will be the guest speaker at the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday at Maurertown Brethren Church.

A service of Holy Communion will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Methodist

Mt. Clifton United Methodist Church in Mount Jackson will celebrate homecoming at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Tancy Bowers Seal. A covered-dish luncheon will follow.

The Church of the Rock in Front Royal will celebrate Usher Day at the 3 p.m. service Sunday at the Warren County Community Center.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Jackson Sr. from Prosperity Baptist Church in Summit Point, West Virginia. The worship leader will be the Rev. Priscilla Ousley from Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Luray.

Saint John’s United Methodist Church in Edinburg will host Gospelfest II at 7 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday. Featured speakers will be Pastor George Bowers on Sunday, Pastor Freddie Helsley on Monday and Pastor Mark Bowyer on Tuesday. Information: 984-4464.

Baptist

Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Front Royal will celebrate the fourth anniversary of Pastor Harold Brown Sr. at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Francis H. Belle, pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Elkton. He will be accompanied by his congregation and choir. Lunch will be served after the morning service.

Blessing Box

Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Woodstock has a new Blessing Box on its lawn. The mini pantry is a perpetual source of non-perishable food items, paper products and other usable items for anyone who needs them.

The box was built by church member Freddie Hunt and was financed with “seed money” available through Thrivent, a Lutheran financial institution.
