Holiday hostess gifts
Never go to a holiday soiree empty handed. Instead, reward the host or hostess this holiday season with a little something that says “thank you.” It’ll guarantee an invite to next year’s Christmas party.
Marisa Hartzel, store manager of Nibblins in Winchester, loves giving olive oil for all occasions, but especially the holidays.
“Not everyone enjoys something sweet,” Hartzel said.
Instead, Hartzel suggests giving the host or hostess Laconiko Olive Oil.
“The two most popular flavors are garlic and Greek,” she said.
The first bottle is $20 with refills at $17.99 each.
Brenda Miller, owner of the Miller House, 5960 Valley Pike in Stephens City, swoons every time someone asks her for a hostess idea.
“Our wax sleeves with bases are my favorite thing to suggest. They make seasonal decorating super easy,” Miller said.
They are available in a wide variety of styles including snowflakes, reindeer and traditional Santa designs, $15 for the base and $21 for the sleeve.
Cindy Miller, owner of Simple Tymes, 9471 Congress St. in New Market, offers her shoppers a wide variety of primitive décor. But her favorite item is the handmade snowmen, $3.95 to $32.95.
“Every woman loves snowmen, especially one that is handmade with love,” Miller said.
