Shenandoah Uncorked returns to Shenandoah Caverns
QUICKSBURG – The eighth annual Shenandoah Uncorked Festival will be held Saturday at Shenandoah Caverns.
Jessica Sager, director of marketing for the caverns, said this is a family friendly event.
“Last year our total attendance was around 1,500 guests,” Sager said. “We’re hoping for another great turn out.”
Festivalgoers will enjoy wine, food and crafts at the Yellow Barn at Shenandoah Caverns. Over 10 Virginia wineries, including Hunt’s Vineyard, Misty Mountain Meadworks and Whitebarrel Winery, will be on site.
Good vendors will be offering up treats throughout the day, including El Chilango Mexican Grill, Mama’s Caboose and Wholesome Foods. Find a trinket or two at the wide variety of craft and specialty vendors participating, including Handmade Wood Crafts, Air Solutions, India Imports and Matilda Jane Clothing.
Kids’ activities include barrel train rides, a magician, goat feeding and more.
“This is the most vendors we’ve ever had participate,” Sager said.
The festival begins at 10 a.m. and the wine stops flowing at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. Wine tasting is $15 and includes a souvenir glass. Explore the Shenandoah Caverns, located next door, and receive a special discount with festival wristband.
ID’s will be checked at the gate for those wishing to participate in the wine festival.
