‘Fandemonium’ returns to museum

WINCHESTER – Children and adults will be able to celebrate their favorite fandoms this evening at the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum’s second annual “Fandemonium.”

Participants will enjoy activities throughout the museum related to their favorite fandoms including “Dr. Who,” “Star Wars,” Marvel Comics and “Lord of the Rings.” Visitors will be trained to expert superheroes, build a Tardis, do Yoda Yoga, and meet the Ghostbusters. Costumes are also encouraged.

“All of the activities during Fandemonium have a base in STEAM themes,” said Ryan Hall, coordinator of marketing. “By giving the activity a pop culture overlay, we can get kids excited about science and math principles without them even realizing!”

Other event activities include “Stranger Things” mystery message, Stormtrooper Bowling, Quidditch training and Percy Jackson Lifeboat building.

“Fandemonium”  is sponsored by the Alamo Drafthouse Winchester. You
