These are some of the area events happening this weekend:
Bryce Resort, located in Basye, is celebrating Presidents’ Day weekend Saturday through Monday. On Saturday there will be a torchlight parade and fireworks starting at 8:45 p.m.
DJ Andrew Stitch will provide live music at 9 p.m. in the Copper Kettle Bar & Lounge. Jerry Wimmer will perform at 9 p.m. Sunday in the lounge.
Magic Lantern, in partnership with the Barns of Rose Hill, 95 Chalmers Court , Berryville, presents “Maudie” at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Sallie Hawkins and Ethan Hawke star in this Canadian-Irish biopic of t Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis – often known as “the Canadian Grandma Moses.”
Admission is $5 for Barns of Rose Hill members or $8 general admission.
Explore the woods and terrain of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, 901 Amherst St., Wincheste, for its Winter Walking Series.
Not normally accessible to the public, guests will have the opportunity to see the grounds with Director of Gardens Perry Mathewes. This will be the last chance to walk this landscape before construction begins on the MSV trails.

Saturday with a Scientist
Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum, 19 W Cork St., Winchester, invites kids of all ages to “Saturday with a Scientist” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Explore the groovy side of lava lamps with chemist Renu Aggarwal as he answers all kinds of questions pertaining to their history, uses and why they were so popular during the 70s.
Admission is $9 per person ages 2 and up. Children under 2 are free.
Barns of Rose Hill, 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville, invites music fans to enjoy live music with “The Randy Thompson Band” and “Janet Emma & Seven West” at 8 tonight.
Advance admission is $15 plus tax or $20 at the door.
Children 12 and under free with accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 7 p.m. Call the box office at 540-955-2004 from noon to 3 p.m. today.
Hotel Laurance, 2 South Court St., Luray, invites wine lovers to its wine tasting tour at 1 p.m. Saturday. Join Time 2 Wine Tours as they drive guests and their friends around to visit three local vineyards: Gray Ghost, Magnolia and Narmada.

Cooters Place in the Valley, 4768 U.S. Highway 211 West in Luray, invites music fans to enjoy bluegrass music with Totally Unrelated at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
