The Potter’s House hosts fundraising dinner

FRONT ROYAL – The Potter’s House, a local nonprofit providing rest, refuge and restoration for women and children who’ve endured sexual assault, domestic abuse or homelessness, is hosting a dinner fundraiser Saturday.

The event hosted by Pam Williams, Lucy Beaty and Pastor Butch Hammond, the trio behind the Potter’s House, is to raise necessary funds to maintain the home.

“The proceeds will go to covering heating fuel for the remainder of the cold weather and cooling utility cost. along with any food and household supplies that aren’t donated,” Beaty said.

Dinner will be catered and provided by Tony and Dana Knave. It will include fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, drinks and a wide assortment of desserts.

DJ Tony Knave will provide music.

A cake auction along with a silent auction will take place. Items include two gift certificates for a massage or facial from MassageEnvy, a gift certificate from Tired and True Tattoo for $300, an anniversary/birthday basket with a gift certificate for a one-night stay at the Woodward House on Manor Grade, and a $50 gift certificate to Regions 117 at Lake Frederick. Other items include a Mary-Kay basket, Walmart gift cards and Target gift cards.

A 50/50 drawing will also take place. Proceeds from it will go toward the purchase of a security system needed to protect the women and children in the home.

When: Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

Tickets: $13 in advance, $15 at the door for singles, $20 in advance for couples or $25 for couples at the door. Children 10 and under are $7.50.
