North Warren Fire and Rescue to host Community Appreciation Day

FRONT ROYAL- The North Warren Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will host its Community Appreciation Day 10 a.m. Saturday.

Fire and police department demonstrations, kids activities, and a car and motorcycle show will go on throughout the morning. A free lunch of grilled hot dogs and chips will be served.

Jason Neale, board of directors president, said it’s been eight years since the department hosted the event, adding that he thought it was time to bring back the tradition.

“We often ask for support from our community and they’re always willing to give it,” Neale said. “This is our way to say thank you for their continued support. Without them, many things wouldn’t be possible.”

Saturday’s event famiy friendly  and ctivities will include a slip-n-slide, a bounce house, a petting zoo, and face and rock painting. Paw Patrol’s Chase, Marshall, Rubble and Skye will make an appearance.

The registration fee for the car show is $15. Judges will award the Top 10 while dash plaques will be given to the first 25 registered vehicles. The show is open to all classes, makes and models.

Retro-sounds will be provided by DJ Freddie.

Warren County Fire and Rescue, along with the Front Royal Police Department and Warren County Sheriffs Office, will provide safety demonstrations. A live burn and air care medical helicopter will land at 10 a.m.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and vendors throughout the day.

“It’s going to be a hot one on Saturday. But regardless, we hope families come out and experience the fun,” Neale said.

Sponsors include Culligan, Front Royal Elks, Blue Ridge Shadows, Cricket Wireless and Front Royal’s KFC.
