WINCHESTER — Doodah, a 13- or 14-year-old female terrier mix, is looking for a new place to call home.

Darlene Foreman, an animal caretaker at the Frederick County Esther Boyd Animal Shelter in Winchester, said that Doodah came to the facility on June 7 as an owner release.

“It looks like they gave her up because she wasn’t good with the new baby,” Foreman said.

Foreman described Doodah as a somewhat shy but sweet dog who gets along well with cats.

“She does her own thing, you know?” Foreman said.

But while Doodah does well with cats, Foreman warned against bringing her to a home with kids. She also said that Doodah should meet any dog she might live with.

“She would probably do best with maybe an older couple or a quiet couple,” Foreman said.

The animal shelter is not aware of any health problems with Doodah, and Foreman said that Doodah is up-to-date on her vaccinations. Doodah has also been spayed and microchipped.

Doodah is housebroken and responds to some commands, like “sit.” She has also been trained to use a leash.

Her adoption fee is $30.
