Strasburg hosts Downtown Living Tour on Saturday
Downtown Strasburg businesses and residents are opening their doors to the public on Saturday for the Downtown Strasburg Living Tour.
Olivia Hilton, who serves as the Strasburg’s marketing and events coordinator, said she hopes the tour gives people a new outlook on the downtown area.
“We want local citizens to see how downtown Strasburg works, lives, and plays,” Hilton said.
The tour will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and will include eight residences, with each home showcasing local art and music. Visitors will be allowed to explore the businesses that are housed beneath several of these residences. Experts from the Strasburg Heritage Association will be on hand to answer questions about the architecture and history of the eight buildings.
Also on Saturday, Staufferstadt Arts will host two tours of the downtown murals. Those tours begin at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The Siblings’ Rivalry Brewery will host a beer garden from noon to 8 p.m., while Crabill’s Meats and Sugar Creek Snowy and Sweet will be offering treats. The Strasburg Library will host a sidewalk book sale. At 7 p.m., the Strasburg Film Collaborative and the Town of Strasburg will show a free family film at the Downtown Event Space.
Hilton said that the tour is a chance to boost Strasburg’s economy by bringing in area residents as well as tourists.
“The tour will give people an opportunity to see what living in Strasburg is like, but it also gives them a chance to see how the town has grown over the years,” Hilton said.
