Military news

Army Pvt. Tommy A. Jenkins has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning at Columbus, Ga.

The son of Khoa Jenkins of Luray, he graduated in 1999 from Rappahannock County High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 2004 from the Devry Institute of Technology in Columbus, Ohio.

College news

Tara E. Jewell of Luray received the Curtis and Patricia Dougans Scholarship, sponsored by the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education.
She is a student at the Luray-Page County Center of Lord Fairfax Community College.
