School news

The Blue Ridge Regional Governor's School for the Gifted is accepting applications for its summer program for fifth- through eighth-graders.

The deadline is Feb. 13. Applications are available at county schools.

Hospital auxiliary

The Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary installed the following officers at a luncheon at the Front Royal United Methodist Church on Jan. 21:

Wayne Shipman, president; Norm Choiniere, president-elect; Marylou Hodges, treasurer; and Elaine Johnson, secretary.

Wayne Shipman presented a check for $50,000 to Patrick Nolan of the hospital for security system upgrades in the women's care center.

College news

Bebhinn Egger and Daniel Furr, both of Front Royal, have been named to the dean's list at Eastern Mennonite University for the fall semester.

Egger is the daughter of Mark and Teresa Egger and Furr the daughter of Richard and Ruth Furr.
