College news
Holly Diane Washbourne of Front Royal has been named to the dean's list at Longwood University for the fall semester.

David D'Andrea, a sophomore at Franciscan University, will perform in the college's spring production of "The Water Engine."
He is the son of Anthony and Deborah D'Andrea of Front Royal.

Chester Gap
Kristi and Brian North of Chester Gap have announced the birth of a son, Mason Bryant, on Jan. 28 at Winchester Medical Center.

Grandparents are Audrey Henry, Lynn and Mary Williams, Mike and Delores North, all of Chester Gap.

Shenandoah

Military news
Army National Guard Spc. Jerry S. Adams participated in the presidential inauguration Jan. 20.

Adams, an infantryman, is a member of the 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment based in Lexington. He has served in the military for three years.

The son of Donna S. Smith of Shenandoah, he is a 2006 graduate of Alleghany High School.

His wife, Shana, is the daughter of Anna Phillips of Cumberland, Md.
