Neighborhood notes -- Winchester
Winchester Festival princesses Elizabeth K. Barley, daughter of Marsha and Dale Barley and granddaughter of Ruth Barley, all of Winchester, is a freshman at Bridgewater College. A liberal studies major, she is a member of the Student Virginia Education Association and Bridgewater Choir. She is a graduate of Handley High School where she was president of the Anchor Club and National Honor Society and a member of the Key Club and the school choir. Molly M. Conaboy, daughter of Becky and Tucker Conaboy and granddaughter of Martha and Robert Coontz and Jane Lake, all of Winchester, is a freshman at Virginia Tech. A political science major, she is a member of the club rugby and intramural flag football teams. She is a graduate of Handley High School where she was president of the National Honor Society, a senior chapel co-chair and a member of the Young Republicans, Anchor Club and the swim and cross country teams. Kelley M. Connelly, daughter of Judy and Gerald Connelly III of Winchester and granddaughter of Alma and Fred Barefoot of Alum Bank, Pa., attends Shenandoah University where she is a freshman vocal performance major. She has performed at Carnegie Hall and in Brazil as a soloist and with touring choirs. She is a graduate of Handley High School where she was a member of the Handley Hilltop Singers. She was selected for all-state chorus her junior year. College news School news Coordinated by Performing and Visual Arts Northwest (PAVAN), the program includes instruction in theater, dance, guitar, instrumental jazz band, vocal music and visual arts. The program is open to residents of Clarke, Frederick, Loudoun, Shenandoah and Warren counties and Winchester. There is no instruction fee, but auditions are required.
