College news

Daria J. Stein of Winchester has been named to the dean's list at Binghamton University.

Literacy volunteers

The Literacy Volunteers-Winchester area is seeking teams for its adult spelling bee April 2.

Library news

Handley Regional Library fines and fees will increase effective March 2.

Fines for overdue books will rise from 10 cents per day to 15 cents.

Charges for printouts and photocopies will rise from 10 cents per page to 15 cents.

Fees for nonresidents will increase from $15 per year to $25.

The increases are necessitated by anticipated budget shortfalls. Fines on overdue books were last increased in 1993.


College news

Krista Dyke and Timothy Senter, both of Middletown, have been named to the dean's list at Radford University for the fall semester.

Dyke is a senior elementary education major and Senter a freshman exercise, sports and health education major.
